Haraway

I was just wondering, as an extension of my previous post in another thread, whether anyone has any thoughts on the inclusion of Haraway (and her real life counterpart, of course) as a character in Innocence. The work she has done does seem to resonate quite significantly in a thematic sense with the movie, but in a completely different context.
I know that more recently (as in post-cyborg manifesto) her research has moved into the domains of interspecies relationships which I haven't really had a chance to read much about yet, but I do plan to get round to it. Seemed worth mentioning as I know both she and Oshii are obsessed with dogs in a similar way.
Anyone read any of her work/have any opinions of the character?
