I've been looking for a site that I used to have bookmarked but lost - it described direct electrical stimulation of the brain (not trans-cranial - you need to drill/poke a pair of small holes) which shows significant increase to certain mathematical abilities that remain active for an extended period (several days).
I guess this would be a sort of transhumanism-lite ?
