Yes an english dubbed version of Innocence was released but only in Great Britain also known as the United Kingdom, the region code in Great Britain is region 2. So if you live outside Great Britain, you will have to get a region free DVD player to watch it.

Make that outside Europe or Japan - both areas use Region 2. It'd be one sorry region, to contain only a single nation.

DC-DVD is a great place. The postal costs are included in the price.

EDIT: Wait, sorry, my bad, they are place that sells Region 1 disks in Europe. Try Play.com or Amazon.co.uk.

ok i just ordered it from Amazon.co.uk..

play.com doesn't seem to ship to the US..

i'm glad to hear they used the same voices as SAC, very good cast of voice actors..

on that note i've always wondered what the voice cast looks like, any links to pics of the voice case for the series?

I could only find the innocence dvd as a boxset with the first film :( (that makes 3 copies i have of GitS 1 now :p)

As a long time hater of dubs and flag waver for subs i was suprised how good the english dub is, which is a good thing because to me the subtitles seemed a bit odd. Prehaps they went for literal translation over an adaption that keeps the meaning, because in places it doesn't make too much sense... :?

Anyone know why they have those regions. They are really annoying.

Oh and most voice actors I've seen look odd for their voices. Like someones dad, or mom.

To control the markets of different areas of the world effectively in the Internet-age. Ofcourse they utterly failed, thanks to the region-free players.

It has been decided, that Blue Ray disks and propably also HD-DVD have only three regions and rumour tells, that North-America, Europe and Japan have been compressed into a single region. Lets hope that is true...

Thanks,
That would be good if they lightened it up a little, or all together.

I read that the new ps3 is going to be region free for games, but not movies. They finally realized everyone just modded them anyways.

Yey Sony, need to fix the movie thing too though.

You said you live in region 2 land. Where you be if you dont mind?
(im in the U.S. Midwest.)

There was some talk about removing the region codes completely, but that fell through, for one reason or another - most likely the decision makers didn't want to give up entirely their delusions of power. And once again the hardware-manufacturers make good cash by starting to sell region-free players a bit later...

I live in Finland - the easternmost of the Nordic countries, but not a part of Scandinavia.
This is developing country, as far as anime is concerned and I order almost everything from the US - for some reason, the usual quality of European anime DVDs sucks - not always, but too often.
