YouTube should be able to do both!
Live Events (via hangouts) are automatically recorded and can then be viewed at any time, and some of these get automated subs (done by voice recognition, but it`s probably not for the live version though).
Only 23 days left...
Did video of the event ever get uploaded? I scoured youtube and didnt see anything.

Who's the woman top row, middle? Something about her reminds me of Pam in True Blood. Not sure why, though.
Lieutenant Colonel Kurtz is what I think is announced.

You say Col. Kurtz and I don't think of a chick. I think of this guy (on the left in case you have not seen Apocalypse Now).
That robot on bottom center. Ronald McDonald clown shoes. Don't recall if I mentioned that before or not. So here it is just in case.
When you said True Blood I was thinking Blood the Last Vampire for some reason until I looked her up. I don't think I agree with you - except perhaps the "not sure why" part. I've not watched any TB so perhaps there is an element of her character that looks like that pose?

O man, I totally missed the Apocalpse Now/Heart of Darkness Kurtz..."The horror, the horror!"
The Ronald McDonald robot, Tsumugi, is apparently a cyborg, housing two brains of identical twins...does general cyborg maintenance for 501st.
Kurtz apparently is Motoko's handler for 501st.

Yeah, I think it's the attitude. Not that I can tell anything, really, about the character from one pose (although you'd hope the character design was THAT good).

Production IG really know their stuff, they're the best at mixing CG with hand drawn characters.

Presently, they are about ready to release 3rd episode in theaters in Japan...so it looks like they are on track. As for the so-called SAC MMO, it looks like that project dropped off the face of the earth.

The English voice of Kurtz being the original Motoko messes with my head. The thing is that the personality (cocky) and wardrobe (a little too provocative) both fit the original Major.
