Prosthetic Bodies and Orgasm?

Bit of a weird question to ask, but it is out of curiousity. Let's imagine for a second, there is a male character in stand alone complex that has a full prosthetic body. If he was able to change his body from a male to a female prosthetic body, the dumb question I'm asking is, can he be able to experience an orgasm without any issues?

This question is very weird I know, but I once got asked this question and I froze because I couldn't find an answer myself, so I had to ask you guys to see if you got any clues. This is probably awkward but yeah...

Also, if it is possible, can it also apply vice versa? (for women in male synthetic bodies, basically)

If you get the NSFW version of the Dark Horse comic book you have a ouple of pages that may apply.
Batou uses the Majors ghost key to pop in and ask her a question at a very inopportune moment. She hacks his arm and he punches himself in the face. But before the comedy there is a reference to him experiencing stuff that was utterly foreign to him.

I found an edited SFW version of one of the pages. You may have to hit refresh after you get the "no hotlinking" error message in order to view the image.

Zoom in, the text at the bottom of the page explains some. Shirow expounded in it in detail.

I could find no SFW version of the previous page. Essentially it represents a software encoder as a "glove" on Motokos hand and arm that digitizes and records stuff for their side business as porn vendors. I guess a government job doesn't pay all the bills even in GitS future?

I couldn't find any version of the next page (or two?) where Batou returns form the connection to speak with Aramaki.

I found this mildly amusing thing though

I guess the take away is that Batou was not equipped for what the input gave him. Wrong software drivers perhaps? I'm not sure what a lifetime of experiencing a body one way would do when an organ you've never felt input from before suddenly begins putting nerve endings on overload. Heck it might even come across as pain? The orgasm itself is all in the the mind, the rest of it is just body parts reporting stimulus through your network of nerves.

I found this afterwards. Long read

Do a page search for "priceless face" to get to a relevant part. That discussion forum goes ALL OVER THE MAP from RPG to ethics to characters. They even hit up Arise in there.

 I can't believe you already replied so quickly. I was just edited the tag asking if it's possible for men, can the vice versa apply as well. (for women obviously)

I guess I now have my answer.

As I understand it male and female brains behave pretty much the same way during orgasm(endorphins are an opioid like morphine as well so the drug mix up makes sense) so that wouldn't be an issue. The grey area would seem to link into a wider grey area in GitS as a whole with how you link up a brain to a cybernetic body in the first place(and indeed on the degree of support the brain needs from the body), can you make links to organs someone didn't have previously?

Not sure its best suited for this sub forum but I think the general subject as well seems to me to be quiet enlightening as to the way the nature of the story has changed in different versions of GitS. I'v still to read the manga but I'm guessing beyond being a bit(well a lot) voyeuristic that stuff above is ment to link into the idea of the major as a modern self reliant woman.

In Oshii's film you can see she doesn't have sex organs and I think her general attitude to nudity seems to suggest she's become disconnected from the idea of sexuality as with much of the human condition. Batou covering her up or looking away when she undreses in front of him is I'd say ment to show his dislike of this disconnection, wanting to treat her in a more human way.

The live action film can't show as much(although shows more than I expected for a non R/12, censors maybe becoming a bit less prudish?) but again seems to give even more of an implication the major doesn't have sex organs. The scene with the prostitute to me seems to imply a distress from her about this and her general disassociation, I don't think is as obviously implied to be specifically bisexuality as just wanting to experience what she can't vicariously. Seems to obviously link into a story of someone trying to reclaim some humanity.

I read a thing somewhere and lost the link, sorry. And I can't even formulate a search to find it again.

The short version is that not everything goes through the spinal cord, there is a secondary nerve link from lower body to upper body. It ties things together without the brain. But the brain is also wired in (I got the idea that it's wired in more as an organ than a seat of intellect). Anyway, the specific article I read said that this secondary nervous system is more complete (better wired in) in women than men and plays a specific part in female orgasm.

I really hate posting without supporting links, but if I can just remember the one noun they used for that system I'll update this post.
