There's quite a leap between a simple personal mobility vehicle like this and an agile, intelligent personal fighting machine, but yes I can see what you mean. I think the concept has more validity in Urban and Mega-Urban areas like those found in Japan, as efficient, single person transport with 'self drive' features would probably alleviate 90% of their traffic issues.
