I am watching the new BSG and I like it. I specially like the mood of the space scenes. It has the same subject with the old series but improved vastly. The series have it's ups and downs but it is enjoyable imo. It has original parts and cliche parts, but I think that makes you feel the old series ...

The SAC book is also coming out this Spring. I guess we'll have a lot to buy.

I think Shirow likes what's been produced. He created Gits years ago and it's still reaching out to people. Even if they're produced by different directors or writers it is still Gits and Oshii is the creator. So I think he is proud.

The writer defined Batou's thoughts in a suitable way and it's fun to read sometimes too. There are few inconsistent parts I can't remember but noone expects better. The writer seems to be a Batou fan.

That is very old news and still no progress at all. I.G. said they want a new movie las summer but Oshii declined the offer. If there would be a new series, it surely depends on how much money they make from dvds.

There will be a new OAV released in March named Tank S.W.A.T. 01, which is an adaptation from Dominion Tank Police created by Shirow. There's a trailer on the site and looks fine. http://tank-swat.jp I think Shirow fans might be interested.

I like that CGI opening too but I find the 2nd gig opening more charismatic and cool just like the 2nd gig itself. So I think it suits better too.

Indeed he is. He did a very good job for Advent Children too imo.
