I can't remember the programme makers ever giving an explaination of why it's called a 'gig', but it could be either a reference to a 'gigabyte' or the slang word 'gig' which just means a job(normally a job playing music, but it's meaning has expanded to describe any job).

I'm not sure to be honest :P I think the UK got the good subs for the DVD but the earlier bad subs for the cinema release. :?

There were two different versions of the subs for innocence though and one of them was painfully bad.

I saw it on the big screen in the UK, can't remember where though. But I somehow doubt we'll see GitS 2.0 prior to the DVD release except maybe in some arts cinemas it's just too niche.

Ya Champloo would have started to drag if it'd gone on for too much longer, that still doesn't stop me from craving another series or a film. :)

Strange that it's being announced just as the atlas shrugged film is going into production too. Great timing, see the slightly melodramatic philosophical work in the cinema and then a couple of months later we'll be able to see the same film but with giant mutant diver-suited, drillbit waving monste...

Bioshock Film would you kindly!

Looks like the rumors were true. Universal has signed a deal to make a BioShock movie. Gore Verbinski of Pirates of the Caribbean fame will direct. Verbinski has said he thinks the movie will be R rated and he'll take the little sisters dilema "right up to the edge," to avoid betraying the...

I really think this one is overhyped tbh. Unlike the soldier they're talking about treating with it now, the first injured guy(the brother of the man trying to sell this pig-powder by the way) only lost a tiny slice off the end of his fingertip which would have healed anyway. Growing new limbs sound...

haha moral imperatives? I'm getting so pretentious in my old age, everyone knows she's the most important character because she's hawt.

I have to say I've questioned why she was the main character before, mainly in innocence which could have quite easily have been carried entirely by batou as main protagonist without so much influence from Motoko, maybe even limiting her appearance to a minor cameo. I think it's because she's someth...

seen alot of these before, I know there's a video somewhere with the German Army messing around with something similar a few years back, but I've never seen one that was so smooth before though. I guess it's making the leap from the user's movements controlling the movements of the mechanical arm to...
