And while I never noticed the Tachikoma uploading their memories, I thought that they contained little chips that used to contain their ghosts and memories, so unless both the satellite and their physical bodies are killed, wouldn't it be possible to bring them back by using those chips as backups?...

Actually it's 34 US dollars. Not that much more expensive, at least if it's special edition. I prefer the American style, though.

Well there's no mention of a 3rg Gig yet. There'll be an Individual DVD but it will be just like the Laughing Man OVA. There's onlt a sentence used by Kenji Kamayama. He says that we might see SAC 3rd gig soon but not neccecerily as a series. I think that just before this forum went down, there was...

Since here's already a thread for this episode, I don't bother to make a new one, although I'm going off-topic, here. I just noticed, while watching this episode, that just before the Tachikoma's sacrifice themselves, again, to save everybody, one of them copies a file in the Net. You can even see, ...

Re: Stand Alone Complex glossary

The Image Curtain is the image that is displayed on the windows of buildings in the GITS universe (think the fish images on the windows at the very begingin of the first movie). It prevents people from evesdropping by both mundain and high tech means (such as heat sensing cameras and electronic pro...

I would like to enjoy the story of EVA, which I hear is good, without having to spend a bunch of money on all the episodes. I'd much rather buy a movie. The platinum edition box should be out in few days. Anime Corner Store asks $67.98 for it, though I'd wait after Christmas and most likely get it ...

Indeed, the Stand Alone Complex takes place in it's own universe, without the Puppet Master - the show's creators were very direct about it, in the interviews and the storyline. You might notice, that it's the year 2030, when the movie and the manga take place in 2029, but the characters are younger...

A space port is featured in the novel to take space shuttles to space stations, I was wondering, does space travel to the moon or space stations exist in Shirow's Ghost in the Shell universe? In the Man-Machine Interface there's a space station with implication that they're quite numerous and in th...

The Official Log Volume 1 had a limited release of about 10,000 copies when it was released in October, but you should still find copies of it in stores and on Amazon or on ebay. Anime Corner Store says there's 15 000 copies made - they sell it with just $33.98, by the way, though it seems, that th...

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a series, but Manga Entertainment made two movies based on the series. Manga Entertainment didn't make them. They just distributed them in English. They were produced by Gainax. The first "movie", Death & Rebirth is mostly made from the scenes of the series ...

You will only have to wait for 2007, if you want to get the complete collection of GITS 1.5 in a deluxe box, if you want to get the individual issues then you can pick up the first issue in Spring 2006. I see little reason in spending money on separate issues, if you know, that there's going to be ...

Well, that means I have to wait until 2007. I'm not going to buy separate issues, if they can be bought in a full album and bonus stuff to boot.

There isn't an Offical Log for the 2nd Gig, yet, at least in English. You mean you have it in Japanese? I'll be looking forward for translation, in any case... I just got the Offical Log 1, too and it's quite interesting. I also liked the DVD's interviews that showed, how the series was actually mad...

Re: Stand Alone Complex for the Sony PSP

During multiplayer, you can control Aramaki. So what ability he has? Smooth talk? I haven't been terribly interested in the GitS games. They look a bit too typical action without the more interesting quirks of the original story. Some detective-work would have made them much more interesting...
