Extreme skepticism and blind acceptance are a problem yes. As for a society’s way of dealing with the above problematic as seen in GitS, I think that it is not too surprising as fundamentally capitalism is build upon one relatively small group of people exploiting another larger group of people, th...

I suppose inevitably the technological context and philosophical context are bound to cross paths during such a discussion, however my most eager and unexplored interest is in the actual mechanical how, why and wherefore of the technology, rather than the effects on humanity as a whole.

I think that a cyberization of humanity is a desirable and inevitable outcome, in the long run mind you. I however see possible dangers in speeding this progress up to fast. This though of course been represented in various mediums of more or less dystopian nature. Of course, you are correct in my ...

GiTS Technology forum?

I don't know how many hardcore tech-heads there are here but I really am truly fascinated by the technology discussed and shown in GiTS. My obsession with technology has been with me since my early childhood and it's constant advance fascinates me, GiTS and the themes of human cyberization and augme...

Interesting, I'll have to get my paws on that one :) Trying to stay vaguely on topic here I should also add to my reasons for watching GiTS in general that I'm a computer geek, and I am fascinated by the advance of technology and it's influence on mankind. To me the idea of cyberization is a logical...

Yeh, I know what you mean. It is kinda of irritating having to wait so long between installments but the best comes to those who wait, y'know ;) If you want to branch out and explore GiTS further there's always the Manga, and I think also a few written books. I have the Manga book of the original 'G...

Not only does Togusa provide a balance being more human, but also he is a balance emotionally. He's married with a family, he's sentimental, and he has sometimes shown a short fuse. The creators of SAC went to a lot of trouble to put emphasis on this in every installment at some stage. In the 1st Gi...

ESSAY ALERT!! ;) I would utilise cyberbrain and prosthetics technology if it was available and of a relatively low risk, and held distinctive advantages. I, for example, find reading the printed word a hardship. In the future (this is looking a long way on, but it's something that GiTS has touched o...

Apparently (yes, it must be true, it's in Wikipedia!! ;) ), if you compare the comparative timelines of Appleseed and GiTS all the events mentioned in the history of GiTS are also mentioned in Appleseed's timeline. I dunno where they got he supporting evidence from for that chestnut, I'd guess from ...

I don't know if this helps any, but Boma's eyes are similar in design to Batou's, although the optics are a different colour. Also in SAC it's intimated that he used to be responsible for rigging nukes. This would lead me to think that Boma is an ex-military operative, maybe a sapper or some sort of...

I watch Anime in English dub if possible. If I could understand Japanese as well as I do English I'd listen to them in Japanese, but I just find the subs are distracting. I am dyslexic so I read really slowly and I've had to pause some Anime with subs to read the lines. It really breaks the atmosphe...

I first saw the GiTS movie way back when it first released in the UK, must have been 1995 or 6, on VHS. Someone at school thrust it into my hand and told me I had to see it. Although I didn't totally get it at the time it stuck in my mind. Many years later I got heavily into The Matrix and wound up ...

If anyone is interested I plan on watching both boxsets through again soon and analysing them in more detail. I hope to note down a list of at least some occurrences of each song on the OSTs (inc. Be Human). I'll doubtless miss some and not be able to ID some, but I have a fair idea of the songs on ...

Hey folks...

Hi, erm... *opens book of Forum Cliches and looks for something appropriate*... I'm new here. Anyhoo, I'm glad I stumbled on this place. I've been itching to discuss some of the finer points of GiTS some place, as well as just hang out with like-minded folks. I know what you're thinking - the name i...
