Dune was one of the greatest books I've read. I can honestly say that it had a massive impact on my life and how I view the world. I would recommend that anyone who likes to think when they read a book check this one out.

Um excuse me I am an American and I have neve been afraid of intellectuals. In fact I appreciate an intellectual talk. I just think its a little hypocritical of you to complain about being generalized and then making a sweeping generalization.

I would try to explain this movie, but I couldn't do it justice. It is brilliant. I would recommend that everyone go see this movie.

Yeah I need English movies inspired by anime or manga.

Ex: The wachowski brothers who wrote the Matrix said they were heavily influenced by GITS. I was just wondering if anybody knew any others that had similar origins.

I need help. I have to do a speech coming up, and my topic was going to be not seeing manga/anime as the same thing as Superman, etc.

The movie is pretty good. I haven't seen it, but I have read the stoy online. It ties up everything and has a somewhat happy ending.

Oh trust me Elmo by the standards of this forum that wasn't long at all. I always disliked the idea of plastic surgery. It always to me seemed another way to streameline all of humanity to fit one mold, but I don't fit into any mold. (or at least I try not to) I am who I am and my body, imperfection...

Yes Elmo, but don't you think that the fact that the cyberbrain is based of a human brain could cause it to do the same thing a human brain does with stimulus and alter it slightly.

And, sorry folks, but I loved METROPOLIS and got choked up at the end...

I liked the plot of Metropolis fine. I just wasn't partial to the Felix the Cat aniation style.
