Interesting topic, I was just thinking the same thing myself jeni. Rather than the psychological implications, i was thinking of the technological and entrepreneurial applications. "Pimp my ride" becomes "Pimp my bod". I saw a documentary on tv the other day about the first guy t...

There are already quite reliable protectors against EMP. Do you think that military devices fail just because of some electromagnetic disturbance? Even some HiFi equipement has been designed to survive such things. Don't try to come up with an überweapon that would ensure human superiority over mac...

#EDIT# Apologies about the scathing nature of this post. Just finished running an election campaign where we got our guy elected as President of the Student Union for next year in my college. The college has 22,000 students eligible to vote. Only 4,500 voted in total. Three candidates and it was a v...

But more importantly beacuse there'll be our self defence mechanisms build in tandem with creation. Assuming a true sentient A.I. co...

Cheers man, Play always seems to be a good site. There's a sever lack of distribution here so. I was in HMV on Grafton St. and they only had Vol 1 & 2. I asked at the counter. They were selling for 24.50 each aswell. Golden Discs only had 1&2 also. I reckon it'll be a long time before we see...

Well, with planes they've done that quite effectivly already with just blue paint on the base and green fields on the top. Other things to consider are trails, and radar, heat seeking and well other things...

Anyone heard of these guys? lmf-fans Laughing man Fansubs They seem to have done really good English ones for the second series, which included english on-screen for signs in japanese and things like that. But I still have no way of knowing how accurate they are, as i've seen the first episode of 1s...

Hey Thyren, sorry to go off-topic for a second, but I lived in Toulouse for a short while with a French Family on an exchange. Nice place, espically the space museum. Wouldn't mind going back.

There's always a difference between the translated dubbing and the subtitles. Makes you wonder which is a closer representation of the Japanese version. Hope it makes the biblical and other references a bit clearer. Got very complex in parts. Should be good though, I want the chance to really get to...

I think you're missing the point. As far as I know there are at least three different types of sensory nerves in the human skin. One type detects pressure, another detects temperature and a third detects pain. So shutting off the pain reception shouldn't affect the sense of touch at all . And the c...

Umm... Where do they say that they cannot feel their own bodies? I don't remember hearing that anywhere. Why would they set it up that way? It is useful to be able to set up the bodies to have feeling, and one would think fairly simple to connect that feeling to the mind. Being able to turn off any...
