I gravitate to "Rebirth" by Origa. I think it really captures the essence of the entire series, a whole "brave new world" theme. Anything by Origa or Graziano is awesome. On a related note, I just had to pay $23.00 for a new SSS soundtrack because ITunes 7.62 and 7.5 (On a IMac, ...

I can't honestly say I have high hopes that Shirow will be involved in this project, or that it will have anywhere as good a storyline or an exploration of intelligent subjects as the originals. I keep thinking back to Silent Hill... not a movie I watched, but totally panned by general audiences for...

I started another topic on the issue of who the puppeteer is on the Stand Alone Complex Forum, here is what I had to say: I just finished watching SSS for the 2nd time. I'm wondering who everyone thinks the puppeteer really was. I personally believe it wasn't just the collective unconscious of the N...

Resident Evil 4: -The warzone scene in the main game, right after you beat Krauser. Enemies bearing miniguns from fortified positions and your own attack helicopter backing you up. -OR even better, the scenes in Seperate Ways, (the add-on levels where you play Ada in the PS2 version), and you duke ...

Solid State Society: Who is the puppeteer?

For those of you who haven't watched it, spoilers ahead: I just finished watching SSS for the 2nd time. I'm wondering who everyone thinks the puppeteer really was. I personally believe it wasn't just the collective unconscious of the Noble rot senior citizens, or that of motoko's, but of the everyma...

Makes you wonder if the human race are losing touch with reality. I don't mean for this to sound the way it will, but I mean it as plain as I can: And can you define what makes reality? How much of what we live in is real to the stand alone individuals, and how much is to the collective consience? ...

Great stuff. Very melancholy and dark atmosphere, nice jazz pieces, a fascinating storyline exploring human egotism through the desire to recreate oneself, and the sadism inherent in human beings through wanting to have sentient beings to torture to obtain sexual gratification (hence the dolls). The...

I agree with epiphany, the superman like jumps she makes are both to show off her physical abilities and psychological fortitude, that she can do something so dangerous so casually (and dangerous activity that gives little or no heed to her own welfare seems to be trademark of hers; I wonder if this...

Here's a quote from the article: Because "some people have said Saddam is a hero and martyr and have glorified his death, this has affected children," Ramy said. But Jasem Hajia, a child psychologist in Kuwait City, cautioned against placing all the blame on video images. "This is ext...

Frightening real life stand alone complex?

I found this article pretty interesting. I find it amazing how information and experience can be transmited and mutated so quickly, and in such a decidedly dangerous fashion. Like Al Qaeda or Kuze's refugees, could these kids be considered stand alones? http://enews.earthlink.net/article/int?guid=20...

Has anyone here watched that other series by Shinichiro Watanabe, Samurai Champloo? It's one of a kind stuff featuring a bizarre but fascinating mix between Japanese history and tradition and modern day hip hop culture, with characters that represent the opposing forces of past and present and which...
