Ghost In The Shell By The Numbers

I bought the Ghost in the Shell Special Edition DVD recently and I noticed the extensive number of language tracks on it. This got me thinking, just how popular is Ghost In The Shell? How many fans of the film are there? How many fans of the series are there? How many fans of the manga are there? Ho...

Tbh having her arms ripped off or her head crushed a bit seems to be little more than the equivalent of a skinned knee to the superman-like purple haired wonder. :P :) Can't say I agree with this whole super woman theory you guys are talking about. Sure, the Major is amazing but I think there have ...

or did they get it on??? LOL Get your mind out of the gutter. I thought she meant he said that while she was asking him about himself during an interview for a position, but my mind never went there. How funny :D. But on a more serious note... Bolma and Pazu may be enigmas but at the very least we ...

I'd rather not get in the middle of this debate but I just wanted to point out that I recently heard that someone has constructed or is constructing a robot constitution in order to be prepared for the advancement of A.I. in the not to far future (just like the one in GITS). So based upon this respo...

Yeah, umm, sorry for ranting back there. I grew to regret my posts not to long after I said them and in truth they have kind of been plagueing my mind ever since, or rather the kind of responses they would inspire. Ironically, I was quick to say an outsider couldn't hold a valid opinion in this disc...

Maybe they're just dealing with the issues better than the rest of the world? I think that you need to use some examples if the rest of us are going to believe that this isn't just a personal attack. I just meant that he and the majority of the users live under completely different surcome stances ...

Lightice, you might possibly be one of the most intellegent people in this forum, and you have my praise for that, but when it comes to this area of expertise your opinion is flimsy. By flimsy I mean it's inexperienced because you live a in utopia that hasn't had to deal with any of these issues in ...

I see. I could have swore I read everyone minus Togasa and Aramaki are 50% cyborg. I'll post if I find a solid source for this statement but what you guys are saying seems to be the truth.

On a related note, I wonder if he and the other less prostheticized members of section 9 would eventually be forced to adopt more prosthetics Are you talking about Saito? I thought he and everyone besides Aramaki and Togasa were highly cyborized (at the very least 50%). The Major is 100% and Batou ...

They were in the original manga? Thanks for pointing that out. Having never read the original manga, I only assumed they were new based upon their treatment in SAC and the fact that they are the only SAC team member's that appear in neither movie (I think).

The creators definetly seem to favor pre stand alone complex G.I.T.S. characters over those created for stand alone complex. However I think they do this because the fans enjoy it that way more. Would you rather see more Bolma and Pazu and less Batou or Togasa or the major? I doubt alot of fans woul...

Yeah, I dont expect Kuze to come back, just like I dont expect Aoi "The Laughing Man(?)" to come back, I was just pointing out he could be "alive," in some form anyway. B.T.W. Does anyone know what exactly those micromachines do that Kuze got injected with. I mean, they obviously...

Thanks for the feed back, james_sb. You make some very good points. But I would like to point out a few things you may have misunderstood. The creators created a solution in episode 25 that would have resulted in Kuze and the refugees "evolving," and disapearing into the net which would ha...

While the episode played out different than I thought I still can appreicate it. Since its a show, everyone was expecting things to work out for the refugees and Kuze but instead the creators took a more realistic approach filled with unhappy endings and issues unsolved. The refugee problem came ful...

I've read that the series director has began working on another project. So, someone else could take his place, I dont think its likely, or it could just be done (for now). Ghost In The Shell doesnt really have the kind of writing you can pump out season after season, after all.
