Yeah, that's the PS2 game Stand Alone Complex, correct?

I have it. Not a bad game, though not great either.

Biggest saving grace is that the game has the actual voice actors. That's a huuuuge plus.

I kinda want to get the PSP game.

Hideo Kuze. I'm very driven. I'm a soldier (though I'm not military, I fight on a different battlefield.) I have a few regrets, and they hit me hard enough to motivate my actions. I also believe in having a cause, and I go out of my way to make people that cause. But fundamentally I'm a person, too....

I have a complex side? Yeah, what makes this series so great is definitely the nice blend of simple and complicated. I know there's complicated parts of it that totally went over my head. But I enjoyed both the simple and the layered. I enjoy delving deep without drowning as it were. And I f...

It's very depressing since I finally found a place where there is actual depth without being pretentious and igniting flame wars. Yet, I still joined anyway. I've been tempted to bump a lot of old topics, but I felt I wouldn't contribute much to them and I wasn't sure if there was a rule against th...

That's poignant, but deathly accurate. Without a prevailing afterthought to the matter, it is true murder of a virtually crafted life. Beyond the issues expressed in the series, a tomorrow came regardless of the screen. Major went somewhere, Batou did something, Gabu was purchased, things came to. ...

I see Motoko Kusanagi as a woman who "lost" her humanity at an extremely young age while growing up in an extremely corrupt and violent world, trying cling onto her individuality, her "ghost", while being inside of an empty "shell"; trying to find a purpose while becom...

In The Shell

This forum is great! It's like a treasure trove of interesting. But in some ways its as eerie as a crypt. :( Since most of the topics are a couple years old. However browsing through the "who's still here?" topic confirms that there's still plenty of life here. :D Also I'm not the ...

I don't think you should worry any about western audiences getting it or not. Just because Ghost in the Shell is an anime and that it's widely known (or not, I do not KNOW, I'm only speculating and I can be wrong) to Eastern audiences doesn't necessarily matter. I'd argue that the real problem isn't...

Oiy. There's a lot to the Laughing Man. I knew a man just like him. In fact it was creepy when that little boy called him "Chief." Since that was what we called this particular man. And just like Aoi (is that correct?) The guy was a huge fan of Catcher in the Rye. I don't think the man eve...

I don't believe in perfect. Not even as a balance. Because the perfect balance is one that includes elements of all things... thus ultimately.. all things. Period. It's an interesting topic to consider. But the quest for perfection is also the quest for singularity. And singularities are bad. Really...

Or it could be the fact that Kuze has lost the ability to move his mouth.. or barely can... But he took a bite out of the apple. Showing a sort of commitment to Motoko she didn't realized until after she saw the bite. Which to me was the point where I went "Ah okay! He was the boy!" It rea...

I love the Metal Gear Series.... but I was greatly disappointed in the fourth installment. As a fan of Hideo Kojima's other projects, I felt Metal Gear Solid 4 lost a lot of it's history and philosophy. In fact it bothered me so much that there was a time when I outright denied its existence. Which ...

As a HUGE fan of Fullmetal Alchemist. I loved the original series, but nowhere near as much as the second series. Brotherhood follows the manga, which is a much stronger storyline. As good as I feel the Conquerer of Shamballa is. I find the second series blows it out of the water. There are faults w...

Necroing this thread to throw my two cents out there. For what it's worth. Aramaki is an interesting character. I believe that uncertainty adds to the depth of his character, that mysterious element that begs for more light to be shed on it. That relationship business is also interesting, it's funny...

I simply think she's just a human. Just a girl. A woman. A person. Nothing she's said has hit me harder than when she's talking about the tachikomas. "Human curiousity." The drive to find out? It's in all of us. That search to find answers. Funny how what we usually wind up finding is ours...
