Actually, I did just watch the whole series again, and I was wrong. It was Togusa who was surprised. I don't think it even showed Aramaki's reaction. Maybe he knew it all along...?Freitag wrote:I didn't catch that Aramaki was surprised. Maybe that will be my escuse to re-watch the whole series again

yeah, but isn't DID a coping mechanism? But I suppose natural selection is a an entire system of evoling coping mechanisms.... DID is a sort of coping mechanism, but it's more complex than that. It's a constant state of alternating personalities... There isn't a time when it's turned on or off, des...

Sexuality in GiTS
I have a lot of questions about sexuality in GiTS. For instance, are DNA/gametes robotic? Do most people retain the ability to procreate after switching over, or do prosthetic bodies dispense donated gametes? Are people all born as test-tube babies in the series? Is there modern state-sponsored Euge...

Re: at what point does a person become another person?
This is a question that several famous philosophers have asked before in reference to typewriters, pipes and in one episode of only fools and horses a broom. But it gains another dimension when we talk about it in terms of people. Are you claiming to be the first person to ask this question, in reg...

I've heard conflicting reports. Some say it'll be CG, others say Live-action. The way I see it is, if you totally close off your mind from the idea of it being good, then you will definitely think it's bad. If you allow your mind to remain open, there's a chance you might like it. My biggest concern...

Sorry to bump such an old topic, but I need to throw in my two cents here... Hopefully I won't be too offensive, but this episode has very strong meaning to me. The story of the last episode was very Biblical in nature to me, spanning both Old and New Testaments. Motoko and Kuze represented a new Ad...

I don't think Proto was a sub-plot. I think he was placed in the show for a specific reason, which was to allude to the future of Humanity, Robotics and perhaps even the future of the show itself. GiTS is all about analyzing consciousness and what makes us human, and Proto was perhaps the biggest th...
