Re: Happy New Year 2021 edition!
I heard a comment about how to pronounce this year and after ruminating on it and coming up with one of my own I offer this. With all that went on 2020 it sure felt like a fight. When the new year showed up all it did was tell us that "twenty twenty won". I'm not looking forward to the nex...

I got my cousin to watch the live action Ghost in the Shell. It took a lot of convincing because I had told her about the series before I learned that she hate a all animated shows. She liked it. (well duh, it's not a bad story) And then she thought she might like to see the original. So with great ...

I need to update my list. I've come across some others (both good and bad) and one that is a series of YouTube videos that seems to be a modern-ish take on meso american spirits dealing with old west people. EDIT: OK, I added the new ones and reformatted the list a little. There are a couple of refe...

I've been boning up on Western philosophers recently and I'll have to throw this in my pot and stir it around too. I came across an article that sort of agrees (I think it does anyway - they both mention Descartes) https://aeon.co/ideas/the-body-is-the-missing-link-for-truly-intelligent-machines The...

I just re-read this thread and I still love it for the questions it raises. The philosophical direction that GitS takes and shakes around about what it means to be human or have a soul starts from an Eastern way of thinking.
