lol I had the same problem in reverse I watched an English dub of shambala, not sure if it's the Adult Swim voice actors. But since I was used to the Japanese voices on the series it just sounded weird... well anyway, the English dub track is definately out there somewhere now.

Just finished it a while ago and loved it, which is odd because normally i find FF games to be really average (But maybe that's because it's all a bit too console style for my tastes). Cutscenes were especially good though, even for an FF game (good cutscenes are sometimes their one saving grace tbh...

Tbh having her arms ripped off or her head crushed a bit seems to be little more than the equivalent of a skinned knee to the superman-like purple haired wonder. :P Not that there's anything wrong with that, she's in perfect superhero tradition. She puts on the skin tight costume and leaps buildings...

I agree with ghengis' Baudrillard reference. The Laughing Man is a hyperreality - the representation takes on a life of it's own and become its own reality, separate from what it originally referred to. The Laughing Man himself states that he never called himself the Laughing Man - this was a title...

:( I just did that thing where it logs you out while posting again... In short then, until I can be bothered to retype it all; IMO Motoko is too undefeatable in SAC to fully sympathise with as a 'hero' of the series. Her 'l33t hacking'/Information Warfare skills are integeral to her character and he...

What releases are you looking forward to?

The last big game releases of the season are just coming up now, what are you guys all waiting on with anticipation? Personally I'm hankering after some FPS goodness i.e. 'Bioshock', 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R' and 'Duke Nukem Forever'(a man can dream :P). 'Hellgate London' sounds nice too... permanent dark gre...

The SH series don't creep me out at all for some reason(not because I'm not easy to scare - I jump at films I've seen many times over). Prehaps this was because the gameplay wasn't particularly difficult, an element of fear is better when there is failiure even in your successes, or a real danger of...

IMO if you start imposing a death sentence then it's pretty much an acknowledgement that your law system is just public revenge.

I don’t think there is any need to worry about the synchronization of information destroying individuality, because (as a major difference to tachikomas) we don’t share the exact same nature. I don't think parallelization of information destroys individuality either. Quite the opposite, I think whe...

value of Stand Alone Complex & maybe the end of history

I've thought about making this post before but the first post always turned into a rambling beast of a essay on the real world implications of the effects we've seen in SAC. This time I'll try to keep it brief as what I'm really interested in is your opinions. Also I'll try to keep footnotes to a ba...
