Re: An outsiders take on self - in GitS

Max Derrat does a decent job with some of the GitS recurring themes through his treatment of video games. I also liked his series on C.G. Jung.

Back in spring, it still wasn't exactly good timing with the glorious weather we got around here.

Now that winter is settling in, I might isolate and give all my old DVD's another run. Everyone around me is catching that second wave, it seems.

Stay healthy, people.

It's interesting how even all the apolitical web corners I visit consider this to be a disease and yet it keeps spreading. Anyway, I don't want to get off topic, sorry.

Thanks for that list! Looks like I have plenty of discoveries to make.

I wonder how much of the older stuff will be rehashed into it. All the self-referencing gets a bit tiring for and old fan like me. Does it ever bother you all?

Dropped by. Read there was new material coming. Read a bunch more. Voted. Posted for the first time in so many years. Felt strange, but fun! About the update, Jeff, I can hardly believe you have the will for it after such a long time, especially after the disappointing mobile metamorphosis of the in...

I went trhough John Steinbeck's "East of Eden" earlier this spring and it blew me away. I hadn't read anything from Steinbeck before and I have to say that I was completely taken by surprise by the quality and depth of the work. Goes without saying, I had to get some more. I'm now going th...

Oh come on, don't be so hard. Besides, I think Catcher in the Rye is a mandatory read in english class in the US. I work here in Quebec (French-Canadian province) in a high school and the grade 11 advanced english teachers have it as a part of their curriculum. I wouldn't be surprised if most americ...

yeah...so did I. Well, he sure lived long enough to see the impact of his books on the world and how his themes are still relevant today. That is really something. I bet he must have heard about the Gits references and smirked.

I bought it pre-owned for under 20$ because I don't like renting. Besides I'm patient enough to wait for prices to drop. Love that game. I just wish you could get out of 1st person sometimes and look at your runs with a cinematic camera with some kind of editing and saving features. I don't really f...

Lurking occasionally. I don't use boards as much anymore. It just seems like aggressive people always end up spoiling the fun of healthy conversation. Not much of that (I mean the trolls) here but you know... I guess I'm just getting old...and grumpy...and withdrawn. :?
