SAC 2nd Gig Vol. 7 LE region 1 with tin case

Post by Motoko2030 »

According to Amazon.com site, the seventh DVD volume of SAC 2nd Gig in the limited edition version will feature:

Tin case (I am not sure if this case can support the single metal cases that came with each volume.)
A collectible GitS toy (not sure what it will be)
Soundtrack CD (I am hoping that the soundtrack CD will be SAC OST 3, the one with the Torukia track and Christmas in the Silent Forest track.)

The release date for this volume is September 26th.

On the Anime on DVD website, they have an early review of the SAC 2nd Gig DVD Volume 7 for region 1, if your want to read the review, click on http://www.animeondvd.com/reviews2/disc ... s/5560.php

The image below shows the tin case for that will hold all of the previous volumes, the volume 7 DVD, the SAC OST 3 CD and a Motoko Kusanagi figure.

No OST 3 would be the 3rd OST (original soundtrack). The second OST was released with a different box set if I recall.

Simple math too much?

OST 2 came with SpecEd of the vol.1 of the 2nd Gig. You can still buy it separately, though.

The more I think about it, I think he meant to say "isn't the CD in the picture the OST 2?"

In the picture that I posted, the soundtrack CD that will come with it is the third OST or OST 3; the CD comes with the Tokuria (Turkey) track, which is one of the best that I have heard and Christmas in the Silent Forest, another excellent song.

The tin box that comes with the Special Edition version can store the tin single cases from the previous volumes (according to the review on Anime on DVD site)

Here is some bad news from someone who has already received the SAC 2nd Gig Volume 7 Limited Edition DVD.
As to the season 2 tins, they do look pretty, but they are very impractical and dangerous for the dvds. All the struggling I've had to go through in getting the disks out means it's highly likely the dvd layers will sepperate and rot much sooner than they otherwise would. (And I've already heard of many people breaking or cracking their disks in the process of getting them out.

yea i noticed that with the first dvd of the 2nd gig,

but then again... that is one of the great benefits of buying the SE volumes, you always have a backup copy :-)

i always wondered if anyone ever just went in 50/50 on the SE set,

buy the SE edition, give or sell off the Dolby disk.. (i prefer the DTS)..
