I forget which GitS it was in, but there was a scene where the major was reduced to a brain-in-a-box and Batou was giving her a lurid description of the execution of her remote control body.

Anyway, the Major specifically commented on not liking the fake feedback that was provided by the box because the patterns were too regular and completely unlike the signals sent by a real (even if it was a manufactured) body.

That is only one of the points that the author of the article brings up, but it's the one that jumped out and grabbed me.
