It's the same about electronics and video games... it's just that it seems to me that the US it catching up quickly, especially when there can be some military products derived from it :roll:

I think that the only thing japanese invented and are still master at is animes and ... sushis :P

The only reason that the Military seems to pioneer all the really high technology is that Corporations don't like to fund R&D into something unless they know it can be profitable.

Robots are one of those items were there expensive to develop and becomes expensive to maintain(gotta hire technicians, then if something breaks gotta replace it...).

... and watching Appleseed: Ex Machina didn't help either, now I want a landmate even more ;)

p2501: the project I highlighted is military funded. It's a mutual capitalist trade-off more than anything: The Military want the cutting edge tech, companies want money for R&D. Both benefit, so both are happy.
