It looks like Speed Racer flopped in a really big way.... sorry Wachowskis. I won't be surprised if this spells ceratin doom for any additional Hollywood anime adaptations.

I don't understand why they chose to make Speed Racer anyway, it has zero nostalgic factor with today's youth. It's a bit before their time...mine as well.

Quite a lot of people I knew who were following the development of Speed Racer with interest *were* people who had a nostalgic attachment to it from childhood days. It's a shame it bombed, but I really was never all that interested in it anyway.

Speed Racer was a very bad joke played on everyone by the Wachowskis.
Even the commercials looked like it was going to be incredably stupid

Just goes to show that a little success can bring out a lot of Self-Indulgence. I can't even picture this doing good on DVD. It is just plan garbage. I had free tickets and walked out about 10 minutes into it. It is a total insult to the movie making industry

Lets face it, Hollywood is a complete insult to the rest of the movie making industry.

I don't know what you were expecting from the film, obviously not what ended up coming from it, but honestly, did you ever think you'd be anything other than disappointed with it?

I can't even remember what speed racer was before it got hollywooded. A cartoon I assume?

Yeh it was. I seem to remember I watched and thought it was lame, but it turned up in the UK after I was past the target age I think :P

There's been a thread on another forum I hang out on tracking it since it was first revealed as in production, and I distinctly remember my first reaction being "Oh, please!".

Batman - The Dark Knight is sooooooo good

Two-faced is a neat character 8) His make-up is so creepy
Heath Ledger's Joker is one of the best characters ever
He completely stold the movie

Dark Knight was okay...awfully long. Follows fairly closely to Batman Begins...and Joker is creepy. At this point I really want to see Hellboy II. Watchmen looks awesome!!

Hellboy 2...awesome!!!
Mummy 3: Bogus...and Rachel Weis was replaced. Don't get me wrong, I heart me some sultry Maria Bello (The Cooler, A History of Violence), but not the same. I zoned out during the film...bored.

Looking forward to new Terminator film starring Christian Bale as John Connor.

I do recommend Wall-E. You'll be surprised to see how much is told in that story without using any dialog.
Oh well.

Saw Push twice. Not that it was that good to pay full price more than once, but there are not enough Hong Kong style action movies around here.

Watchmen rocked. They changed the right things to make it filmable. They kept the right things for it to remain the original story (Unlike The Day the Earth Stood Still which was a victim of the green conspiracy).
People tend to look at you a little strangely when they know you stuff voodoo dolls full of Ex-Lax.
