In SAC: 2nd GIG there are some new recruits. I don't know when they first show up, but I noticed that they were there in Volume 4 of the SAC: 2nd GIG DVD.

There could be a connection to the new Section 9 recruits in the 4th DVD Volume and the episode that featured Motoko testing the potential recruits in the 3rd Volume.

and "GitS 2: Innocence: The Long Goodbye" novel

Stand Alone Complex novel series will come in three volumes, the first two are coming out this year but I don't know when the third volume will come out.
