You could say its the ciclical aspect of life. The section gets destroyed so it can be reborn to die again and so on.

History may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.

besides, philosophy is about raising the question for the sake of discussing it and I doubt we'd go twice the same way about any subject as long as some time as elapsed between discussions.
Oh well.

What is the pronounciation of Portishead?

-"Portis head", "Porti shed", or maybe "Porti sheed"?

And that is very much related to here huh?
Some things are too important to be taken seriously.

I think its pronounced "Port Is Head," but more quickly and run together. I've only heard a little of their music, so I may not be the best person to answer this question.

Haha!! Are you someone from the [P] board playing with my head? That has to be THE faq... That and: "Is the Pearl album really by Portishead?" Which isn't, of course.

That's "Portis - head", but in one word, with the s pronounced sss, like the Washington Redskins runningback Clinton Portis, and then just "head".

It's the name of a town not too far from Bristol.

Not a philosophical question since it has a definitive answer. Now if you want to ask WHY it's pronounced that way... it's a different story.
Oh well.

....What was once the section that people who weren't advil addicts ran from, is now the laughing stock of the board. :( I feel like I'm in comedy central.

PS: Yup, Portis-head. ( I can't believe I contributed)

ok you guys made me laugh.

Let's keep this section free of this kind of stuff. Seriously. No goofing around in the philosophy section  :)

i think I'll go ahead and lock this topic now. Guys go play in the other sections we've made for you... sheesh. ^^
