GitS SAC ost 1,2,3

Post by marto_motoko »

I just have a curiosity, since I was interested in opinions.

Which one did you like best, and which song was your favourite from the three of them? Also which one did you like best for each ost?

My personal favourite would have to be Velveteen from the first ost. My favourite OST is Christmas in Silent Forest (3rd OST ), and for the favourite song from each one:

1st: Velveteen

2nd: I can't be cool/ I do (very very touch choise :? )

3rd: Christmas in Silent Forest

I can't wait to hear your own opinions, since it's always interesting to hear what others think!

Is there?

I seem to have 4 seperate albums on my Itunes - Ost 2, tachikoma album "be human", ost3 and ost 1. I didn't relize the the tachikoma album wasn't a real ost (cowboy bebop had some OST albums like that, i just assumed they were switching things up).

Spotter from tachikoma/"be human" seems to be the definitive Ghost in the Shell SAC song to me. Its the only one i really picked out from the others when i first started watching the series, and it always seems to come up when they are solving a mystery. So its all good things.

Yakitoria, some other time, from OST 1.

Also from tachikoma "be human"; tachikomano Iede, Rokki-wa doko (really sad but awesome), cream (amazing too)

Ost 3: torchia, dew, velveteen

Ost 2: cyberbird, I do is good but extremely sad.

I love um all, and theres too many to name. Im so lame when it come to music these days, ive listened to these 4 albums for an entire semester when doing HW. There is so much variety and its all really good, but not too distracting.

From my understanding, SAC OST 2 contains music from the SAC 2nd GIG and SAC OST 3 also contains music from SAC 2nd Gig, since one of the songs on SAC OST 3 is called Christmas in the Silent Forest and it is heard at the end of episode 26 of SAC 2nd Gig.

Cheers. So how come the 2nd GIG has so much more music?

And yet there are many unreleased music. Ost 3 has music mostly from 2nd gig but it also has tunes from 1st season.

My favorites are:

Christmas in the silent forest
Living inside the Shell
Where does this ocean go
Fish ~ Silent Cruise
Rise
Dear John

Well I like them all equally but these are more equal :P

Oooh thank you all for contributing.

And by all of this, I've just come to realize exactly how very few people have listened to the third OST. :?

Real shame, to be honest. That's in my opinion perhaps the most unique and well-composed of them all.

I hope OST 3 will come out as an extra with one of the DVD volumes.

I know that I can get this soundtrack CD from anime e-commerce sites like animecastle, animenation store, but I would say the reason why I haven't got it yet is that I don't like buying products that have to be imported when I can wait and buy them domestically.

I totally agree with you! 3rd OST is the best imo. :)

*sticks thumb up with childish grin* Aha! Nice to have someone that agrees with me. One of the local 'fans' (person can't even remember the names of the characters) said that it sounded washed out and as if though composed by someone with a mental illness like the rest of them. I was ready to kill him, concidering that GITS SAC has very finely composed music unlike majority of the shows in anime that have very simple works.

I have to put up with a few friends like that too. :( But, as you said they don't even remember the names or the story. They will never know what they miss.. :)
