On a slight side-note, is anyone liking this?

It's a bit less lurid
Now what would be REALLY cool is if Jeff could give me all the buttons from the subTeal Theme so I can install green buttons on my theme/template
UPDATE: I've got the template laid out in full, with an installable theme. Just need those green icons

I can send you the entire images folder (about 70KB). Should I email it?

What about background images, are they too distracting or do they make the palace look more interesting?

A whiter theme

My designs tend t be deliberately unobtrusive and understated in the main, with bold titles and dividers to maintain clarity and contrast between areas of the page. Brighter green colours just make it look insipid, so I'm really stuck as to how to attack anything bright and airier.
My colour scheme was based off the original image AI used in the first one as a background (Motoko looking out over the city form the airport tower). The greens in that are deliberately kinda flat I think. It almost reminded me of the Matrix
Also, there are a lot of awkward limitations on the colour scheming in phpBB that make getting it perfect almost impossible.
I'll backup my first attempt and see if I can lighten it, maybe by using more white and greener shades.

OK I had a play and came up with another style that Jeff should be able to bolt to my theme easily. I can pretty much do these until I'm blue (or maybe green??!) in the face if Jeff can integrate it easily.

Very clean! And I like the greens.
What do the "post" pages look like? Are there lines between posts?
Would a REALLY light background image work with this (like, maybe 10% opacity)?
Also, what about dividing the different groups on the index page (like AI had done in the first post in this topic)? And dividing up the image similarly?
Of course, I'm sure all of this is really easy to do in phpBB

After a minor tweaking, it looks like this:

I'm slowly coming up woth more cool ideas too, how about:
Codebase Green (above)
Cyberspace Orange
Tachikoma Blue
Section 9 Grey
Pink a Motoko
Cyberbird White
I could come up with a good few I'm sure

The whole GITS thing is rather dark so some darker more dire colors might be cool

That was king of the idea of the Section 9 Grey. It'll be themed off the grey jump suits like the one in your avatar
If you can think of any other 'dark' visual themes I could play off then do suggest some.

How about a theme similar to the one on the
Australian Ghost in the Shell Website

Nice colour schemes, certainly something to look at. I especially liked the blue/white SAC website.
