I don't have a problem with posts that are short enough, and I didn't say that I was having fun at your expense. I said that I indulged in amusing myself, and that only applied to a very small part of my post, not the whole post. Trust me, when I have to resort to amusing myself, I'm not really havi...

If the cyberbrain has an internal memory storage it could most likely save files perfectly, but any file that is saved after being processed by the human mind would most likely be distorted to some degree. I know that when I remember stuff I certainly don't put as much emphasis on some things compar...

Well, if Motoko intended for her actions to answer Tamaki's question, she could've said "watch and learn" instead of "no comment". Just saying...

I observe the use of "generally" and the "can become." The language suggests that there are exceptions to the rule. It's me. I'm not comfortable expressing certainty about subjects of which I'm not certain. And yes, people certainly do think of themselves in those kinds of terms...

Perhaps she didn't want them to remember their creator because that memory could lead to a kind of loyalty toward that memory which may interfere with their loyalty to Section 9?

Oh, I'm doing fine. Managed to finish my PnP chronicle in just a few hours, and I got all the webcomics and must-see-TV read and watched respectively, so now I even have time over to visit this forum. Colour me couchbound. Perhaps I should get me some icecream soon?

Tamaki wanted a simple answer. She got imagery from a creation myth. But is that imagery the answer to her question or did she instead witness the two Motokos 'handling' that new virtual life-form they discussed previously? I always assumed that it was the latter, even though the former fits nicely...

Close call between Manga Motoko and SAC Motoko, but Manga Motoko wins due to the muscle tones. If MMI is included in the Manga Motoko there's no contest in my mind. MMI Motoko is just pure awesome.

And ghost dubbing isn't a way to achieve immortality, it's just flawed copying which eventually kills the original. And no, a perfect copy isn't the same person, so even if no one knows that it's a copy and treats it as the original, the original isn't any closer to being immortal. Unless you think ...

Tamaki asks Motoko, "Why fuse with an information deity who seeks life, old age, and death?" Meaning, among other things, what do you stand to gain from such a fusion? Motoko's response: "No comment." Well, thanks for clarifying that . :) I assumed that Motoko was just being obs...

Questions for Gillsing: Is identity- as discussed above- always and in all ways constructed? And if a person's identity is constructed, doesn't it have to be constructed after the fact- i.e., first, something comes into being, then it develops/is given an identity? Or does the way something comes i...
