well mythology is a lietmotif in mamoru oshii's films, in particular the changing and re-writing of them - in innocence it is the dangers of the how the puppet/golem/human-making myths shape our cultures and attitudes. So while he may be giving context-free juxtaposition between these mythologies of...

He's a bit of a rebel with no time for the rules of the authoritarian system for which he works and once he's rescued her he is less than enthusiastic about the mortals he is made to serve. - I think he's a pro-satan man. :)

The best thing about it is everyone ends up pulling hilarious contorted faces when they first try to use it. I really want to play a c...

I remember not really understanding why Togusa quotes Milton when I first watched it. It's been a while since I've watched Innocence, but I think it was one of my favourite parts of paradise lost "Satan stood and called/His legions, angel forms, who lay entranced/Thick as autumnal leaves that s...

Where does meaning come from in fiction?

We are fans of ghost in the shell, probably what some would call obsessive fanboys/girls. We have in this place dissected most every aspect and implication of the film's content to an extent that was probably never intended by it's creators. We have drawn more meaning from the story than was probabl...

maybe it's more of an issue with videogame adaptions because everyone's experience of the subject matter will be different, maybe that's true of all fiction to some extent but especially so with games because the narrative is in part being directed by the audience.

normally I think it's just the opposite, they try to convert the game to film too directly by just making it a lazy chain of action cliches with very little attention being paid to any character other than the protaganist like DooM, Hitman, Mortal Kombat or Tekken(or any Boll film). If they actually...

lol great idea Sylphi I think I might just do that, I know some people at one of more artsy local flickhouses so I reckon I could convince them to do a double feature. I don't know why people don't screen double-films so much anymore, it's always a bit tiring but I love em'.

Oh hard choice.. I went for Ryu as he's the one I'm best with, but I love playing with Guile and there's just something about playing as stretchy old Dhalsim that is comedy gold.

The position of where it looks like you're meant to put your left hand looks a bit unnatural for a bullpup - but other than that I don't think it's too out there.
