Episode 25: This Side of Justice

...I think I got the title right? Yay, Togusa gets to do some serious kicking of butts and rescue the P.M. (Aramaki cops a feel! Ecchi! ) Proto's alive, if not kicking. And Batou solves a situation diplomatically  and now he's off to rescue Motoko again. Could someone remind me plea...

I hope they can repair Proto--what will I do for my bishonen fix without him? And if we have bioroids, can the Puma sisters be far behind... I'm a little confused about the plane that Kuze and co. shot down--was Gohda supposed to be on it, or did they just send it out there unmanned to jam com...

Did the idiot refuge fireing at the soldier with out orders remind anyone of the final battle between Mordred and Arthur in the Arthurian Legands. It kinda reminded me of the old archer in Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers who accidentally let an arrow fly, killing one of the orcs (shows how shallo...

And more importantly, the factor was being virgin before cyborgization, which Kuze would pretty much automatically pass, having become a full cyborg as a child. I still think it's a loopy plot device. And I still think the Anna Russell quote very much applies to Gohda (strictly based on his persona...

I nearly choked on my breakfast cereal when Gouda claimed that the common factor for the individualists was...virginity?
And lo, the clouds parted, and the voice of the divine Anna Russell proclaimed from on high, "I'm not the least bit surprised!"

There's also quite clearly a different animation crew that did "Natural Enemy," "PU 239," and "Trial." (I think they do mention this in the interviews on the DVDs, but I forget precisely who worked on which episode, and I'm too lazy to go look again... :| )

Whee, more manga characters make it to the small screen. They did a good job with Koil, Aramaki's Russian friend, and the weird little beady-eyed thug who takes Motoko to meet w/ the hacker. The hacker's "pets" were pretty cool too. Serious "EEEeeewww" factor when one of them sta...

Hah? What farts? Did this not happen on the Adult Swim that we Left Coasties get for some odd reason? Or is your post the April fool's joke? :? Batou: "Dogs don't like me." Yep, definitely a different continuum from the movies. Wonder if someone's gotten ticked about all the fanfics about ...

And the kid still has his organic body, and seems a little younger than 15 to me. Way younger than 15 IMHO, with that voice, body size--heck, doubt he's even hit puberty yet. I know that Motoko believes in letting it all hang out, and the Japanese tend to be mellower about such things than us Purit...
